College Prep Online Program {ages 14-17}
Today's high schoolers are juggling hectic schedules. From earning scholarships to excelling in sports or preforming arts, high schoolers are accomplishing amazing things. However, face-to-face communication outside of their social circle may not come easily. The program will cover professional demeanor, what it means to be a good friend, will provide specific norms and actions a young adult can take to feel more secure in day-to-day life situations. Students will learn interview etiquette skills, and positive communication preparing them for employment and college. They will gain leadership and teamwork skills, and ways to feel comfortable when speaking in front of an audience.
The curriculum covers a wide array of etiquette topics listed below:
LEVEL I: First Impressions, Projecting confidence through social cues, Basic manners: physical presence and poise, Conversation Skills, Table Manners (European and American Style), Private School Interview and Cell Phone Etiquette,
LEVEL II: Social
Graces for Public Places and Dress Codes, Family Etiquette (showing respect to
siblings and parents, doing chores), Positive Communication and Conflict Resolution, Phone & Email Etiquette, Reasons for following dress codes and personal hygiene
LEVEL III: Meaningful Friendships, Cliques & Social Cues, Social Graces in
Social Media Etiquette, and Positive vs. Negative written
communication, Gracious Guest & Hospitable Host with Invitations and
Thank You Notes, Dating Etiquette (how to approach, ideas for what could one say and do on a date)
